| General Overview | Kindra is kind and empathetic, even nurturing at times. She will naturally attempt to sooth social tension and may speak in the lyrical cadence of the frontier to blend in and make others comfortable rather than the grammatically precise Core dialect that comes more naturally to her. She takes the responsibility and mission of her vocation seriously. Kindra does not flaunt any aspect of her training or use it for inappropriate or salacious purpose. She does not take kindly to insults to her profession. Kindra is fully cognizant of her privileged upbringing and makes a concerted effort to understand the motivations and attitudes of others, but may fail out of ignorance and inexperience with the harsher aspects of life in the 'verse. Outside of high society, she lacks the sort of 'street smarts' that might be considered second nature to those raised in less advantageous circumstances. | Personal History | Kindra was born on Persephone in 2490 to Companion Siobhan Graham and Kinmont William Armstrong. Three years later Kinmont fled to the border worlds, abandoning Liddesdale ranch and his small family. Soon after, Kindra's mother renewed her license and committed to an exclusive, long-term contract with Kinmont's close friend and neighbor Walter Buccleuch and his wife Margaret. Kindra grew up on the Buccleuch estate, beloved and raised jointly by Siobhan, Margaret, and Walter with every advantage the Buccleuch wealth could provide. Kindra rarely crossed paths with Walter and Margaret's son James, fifteen years her elder, away at University on Londinium for the first few years, then busy with his own business pursuits thereafter. At the age of twelve, Kindra chose study with Companion House Madrassa on Sihnon. This choice was encouraged by Siobhan and supported by Margaret, but conflicted with what Walter thought Kinmont would have wanted for his daughter. Four years later, the Unification war began. In Madrassa house Kindra was largely buffered from events in the 'verse. Her stepbrother James Buccleuch became a high-ranking Alliance officer. Siobhan's loyalties, and the allegiances of those associated with her, were called into question when rumor circulated that Kinmont-Willie Armstrong was still alive and a ranking Browncoat officer. One year before the Unification war ended, when Kindra was twenty and still safely ensconced in Madrassa, her mother Siobhan was found dead on the Buccleuch estate under suspicious circumstances that were never fully resolved. When the unification war ended, Walter and Margaret brought Siobhan's ashes to Sihnon, to be interred at Madrassa Companion House columbarium according to Siobhan's wishes. During this visit Walter tried again to convince Kindra to abandon her companion training, but she remained dedicated. For the first few years after she completed her training at Madrassa and became a registered Companion, Kindra pursued her chosen vocation among wealthy society in the core worlds, favoring associations with luxury cruise liners. When her stepfather Walter's sudden death made cortex headlines, she rushed home to Persephone. Kindra's stepmother Margaret revealed horrifying news – that Walter had been murdered by their son James. Margaret also gave Kindra a data rod from Walter and informed her that Walter had recently been in communication with Kindra's birth father. The data rod contained a large encrypted file plus Walter's will, leaving a third of his estate to Kindra, but only if she renounced her Companion license within five years – something she thought at the time she would never consider. |

| Service Record | 2512: Graduated from Madrassa and became a Registered Companion 2514: Kindra rented the shuttle on the transport ship Cicada, where she met the temporary pilot, Alden Loxley. Alden and Kindra acted on their immediate attraction, and Kindra invited him to play his guitar with her during her harp performance at an anniversary party on Pelorum. Kindra left him there without saying goodbye out of fear of what could happen if she confessed she was in love with him. 2515 - Kindra met Alden on Aphrodite with his partner Alison. Kindra helped them make an abrupt exit on a cruise ship - the Quantum of the Stars. April 2517: After hearing what happened to Walter from her stepmother Margaret, Kindra ran into trouble at the Eavesdown docks terminal, but Jonas Bailey stepped in and saved her life. Kindra hired Jonas to be her body-guard, and he took her to his safe-house where she opened the puzzle box Walter had left her. Kindra and Jonas traveled together for about a month, and in a confrontation with James, Jonas saved her life again. Believing Kindra to be safe from James, they parted ways. October 23, 2517: Kindra encountered Alden, Alison, and Jonas once again in the town of Caster on Santo, and rented Fortune's Echo's port shuttle. November 2, 2517: the night before docking at Li Shen's, Kindra and Alden rekindled their relationship. November 15, 2517: Expecting to meet a client at a hotel on Three Hills, Kindra was kidnapped on behalf of her stepbrother James Buccleuch, whose plan was to trade her for her father Kinmont William Armstrong. In a huge show-down, Alden and the crew saved her. November 18, 2517: News of what happened to Kindra on Three Hills reached the Guild. She was immediately summoned to Madrassa, and had to leave Fortune's Echo. |
